The Client:
P.J. Whelihan’s Pub is a restaurant chain in Pennsylvania and Southwest New Jersey with a fun and friendly atmosphere, award-winning food and tasty pub beer selections. P.J. Whelihan’s Pub prides themselves on their ability to combine outstanding food, cold beer and friendly service.

The Objective:
To provide LED lighting fixtures that will increase the quality of lighting, the level of illumination, and safety while significantly reducing energy consumption and operating costs.

The Challenge:
To pay considerable attention to the issues of light pollution and glare control, while increasing lighting levels and creating energy savings.

The Solution:
When one of the P.J. Whelihan’s Pub had a parking lot light destroyed they decided to investigate how to increase their lighting quality and save energy. Stouch Lighting provided them with The New Generation LED exterior LED lighting technology. Their current fixtures are 175W and use approximately 213W of energy. Two LED lamps that are 250W each (equivalent to 250W HID) but only use 35W each of energy that replaced one metal halide lamp were provided. Therefore in one parking lot LED lighting fixture is producing 65% more light and generating 67% energy savings.

The Results:
P.J. Whelihan’s Pub is anticipating the estimated 67% less energy usage then the former facility’s metal halide lamps. This BETA test demonstrated their light levels will increase 300% and their energy will decrease by 45% when we complete the retrofits for the entire parking lot with LED lighting. “Stouch Lighting’s LED fixtures have been a logical business decision and a responsible choice for the environment.
