The Objective:
To provide LED lighting fixtures that will increase the quality of light, create a safer environment, and reduce energy consumption and costs.

The Challenge:
To reduce Street Lighting energy consumption and maintenance costs, while increasing both pedestrian and vehicle safety throughout West Nottingham Township.

The Solution:
In the Street Lighting retrofit project, Stouch Lighting replaced the 100 Watt, 150 Watt, 250 Watt, and 400 Watt High Pressure Sodium fixtures with 56 Watt, 83 Watt, and 240 Watt LED fixtures respectively. In the parking lot lighting, a 400 Watt Metal Halide flood light was replaced with a 120 Watt LED flood light to illuminate the “Park and Ride” parking lot.

The Results:
The Township’s light levels increased, while energy consumption was reduced by an average of 60%. The LED fixtures have a rated life of over 70,000 hours and a life expectancy of up to 15 years with no lamps or ballasts to replace.  The new fixtures provided a brighter and uniform spread of light without any light trespass or glare, while requiring significantly lower power consumption. They also include a seven year complete fixture warranty.
