In the last issues of Stouch's Snapshot, we've been sharing pieces from lightED on Detroit's failed LED lighting retrofit in view of their recent settlement with Leotek. This next article discusses how Detroit finished replacing their burned out streetlights, paying for it out of their own pocket despite Leotek's mistakes and false light lifetime promises. The City stated that the replacement costs them about $8 million- nearly 20,000 Leotek brand LEDs died before their 10-year warranty expiration.
